This summer has undoubtedly been the most significant for Brentford since their promotion to the Premier League.

The departure of Thomas Frank to Tottenham left the club facing the need to replace a manager in the top flight for the first time, and a new boss was appointed in his place – Keith Andrews , who will become only the seventh manager to make his Premier League debut.

They have said goodbye to captain Christian Norgaard and top scorer Brian Mbeumo , and there is also a possibility that they will lose their next top scorer, Yoane Wissa , and there has been a change in first-choice goalkeeper, with Caoimhin Kelleher replaced by Mark Flekken .

A sign of success, especially for a club of Brentford's size and quality, is that bigger teams will want your best players. The club is used to this and so replacing talented players is inevitable. However, such significant changes this time around have raised concerns about the negative impact on the team's performance and the risk of relegation.

In most cases it was expected and prepared for, and now Sky Sports can shed light on how Brentford are planning to respond to these developments in order to secure their place in the Premier League for another season.

Losing Frank? Ensuring Continuity with Andrews

Sky Sports pundit Joby McAnuff says he understands why Brentford fans may see Keith Andrews' appointment as a risk, but says the new manager has “done everything” to earn his chance.

Continuity was Brentford's watchword when choosing Frank's successor and one of the main reasons they decided on Andrews. The Irishman has impressed throughout the club since becoming assistant manager and set-piece specialist last year.

The choice of Andrews over Frank's second manager, Justin Cochrane , who eventually moved to Tottenham along with the Dane, came as a surprise, but it highlights how quickly Andrews' reputation at the club has grown. He is respected and valued by the players, and is keen to continue the culture and playing philosophy that Frank established.

Sell Norgaard? Buy Henderson.

The main problem with selling Norgaard was the loss of both his leadership qualities and his playing skills. How do you solve the problem of replacing a player with such experience and captain's abilities?

The acquisition of former England and Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is a great way to deal with this situation, to say the least. Henderson will certainly add even more leadership qualities and certainly experience, having won the Champions League and Premier League, as well as playing in major tournaments with his country.
