Manchester Originals secured their first men's Hundred win at the third attempt by beating London Spirit by 10 points at Emirates Old Trafford.

England stars Jos Butler and Josh Tonge impressed for the hosts, with the former white-ball captain making 46 off 37 balls as the Originals posted 163-6 batting first – their best total in 2025 – before Tonge took 3-29 in the Spirit return.

Australian opener David Warner top-scored with 71 off 51 for the London side, sharing 75 in an opening partnership with Kane Williamson (19).

Tongue ended Williamson's agonising 20-ball spell in the middle and then returned to take the crucial scalp of Warner, as well as Shaun Dixon (2) in the space of four balls as Spirit's chase faded.

Talented 22-year-old fast bowler Sonny Baker also impressed, earning the Player of the Match award for 1-21 from 20 balls, despite starting by conceding just four of his first 10 balls.

Ashton Turner (13/7) and Jamie Overton (19/7) hit some big shots for the Spirit late in the game, but the Originals held on for their first win of the season.

Earlier, Phil Salt (31 off 20), Ben McKinney (29 off 12) and Heinrich Klaasen (24 off 17) also contributed for the Originals, while Ashes hopefuls Overton (2-26) and Ollie Stone (2-27) took a pair of wickets each.
