Luke Littler is determined and confident of success at the Australian Darts Masters

Luke Littler is aiming for world domination and is targeting success at this weekend's Australian Darts Masters.

The teenager cemented his position at the top of the sport with victory at the World Matchplay in July, completing a hat-trick of prestigious titles including the 2025 World Cup and 2024 Premier League.

He finished second at this tournament last year behind Gerwyn Price and is confident he can do better this time around.

“I've been here a few days now so I've settled in, but once Friday night rolls around we'll be ready and the crowd will be happy, that'll definitely lift my spirits,” he said ahead of the Wollongong tournament.

“When you finish second, you want to come back next year and win. It's a long road, but now that we're here and after the Matchplay triumph, I feel very confident and ready for the next challenge.

“I had the test in Blackpool and it was definitely a great 10 days. I'm happy to have won and won the Triple Crown, but now we're in Australia it's a different competition and a different mindset.”

Littler will begin his season against New Zealand's Haupai Puha, while eight PDC stars will take on players from the Oceanic team.

World number one Luke Humphries will face Johnny Tata, while defending champion Price will take on Joe Comito.

Josh Rock, who suffered a semi-final defeat in Blackpool, will make his World Series debut and faces a tough opening match against local favourite Simon Whitlock.

Rock has taken his game to new heights this year, including winning the World Championship with fellow Northern Irishman Daryl Gurney in June, but he says he doesn't yet consider himself part of the sport's elite.

“Not yet,” he said. “The Premier League is my goal for next year, if not, then in a year I will consider myself an elite player.”

“I have been playing very well all year and if I continue to play at this level I might move up in the rankings.

“Of course, winning would be fantastic. If you want to put your name in the World Series, why not do it on your first try?”
