Four killed in exchange of airstrikes in Russia and Ukraine

Russia and Ukraine exchanged airstrikes overnight, killing two people in each country, officials said.

According to local authorities, the southern part of the Dnipro region and the northeastern Sumy region of Ukraine were subjected to joint missile and drone fire.

The head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional state administration, Serhiy Lysak, reported that at least two people were killed and five were injured as a result of the shelling.

In Dnepr, a multi-story residential building and a commercial building were damaged as a result of the strike, and a fire broke out in a shopping center in the region.

In Sumy, the local military administration reported three casualties.

Kharkiv came under intense air attacks overnight, with local authorities reporting that Ukraine's second-largest city was hit by four guided bombs, two ballistic missiles and 15 drones over three hours.

Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov noted in a message on Telegram that the attack damaged multi-story residential buildings, local businesses, roads, and communication networks.

At least five people were injured, including three rescuers who were hit in a double strike when the second attack targeted rescuers trying to help people injured in the first, he said.

Russia carried out strikes on Ukraine overnight using 208 drones and 27 missiles, according to the BBC's daily report.

According to preliminary data, air defense systems and electronic warfare systems destroyed or intercepted 183 drones and 17 missiles, but 10 missiles and 25 drones were hit in nine places.

In Russia, officials said Ukrainian drones attacked several regions overnight.
