Aidan Morgan leaves Ulster Rugby

The province has confirmed that midfielder Aidan Morgan will leave Ulster Rugby this summer by mutual consent.

The 23-year-old midfielder from Auckland, New Zealand, joined Ulster last year from the Hurricanes rugby union club.

Ulster Rugby general manager Bryn Cunningham said Morgan had been an “outstanding professional” throughout his time in the province, “but as the season progressed and opportunities became more limited, we came to the mutual decision to release him early, which we felt was the best option for both parties.”

“We thank Aidan for all his efforts this past season and wish him and his partner all the best in the new stage,” he added.

“We will have three fully contracted midfielders aged between 21 and 26 in 2025/26 and we need to continue to develop them and get the best out of them in the coming seasons.”

Speaking about his departure, Morgan expressed his desire to thank Ulster Rugby fans, players and staff for the support they have shown him since he joined the club last summer.

“I have enjoyed my time here in Belfast with Ulster, learning and developing as a player and person. Thank you for the great memories and I wish everyone the best of luck for the future.”
