Liam Payne's girlfriend reveals their latest 'chilling' conversation

Six months after Liam Payne's tragic death aged 31, his girlfriend Kate Cassidy has revealed their last conversation before he fell from a hotel balcony.

Influencer Cassidy, who has been in a romantic relationship with Payne since 2022, had been visiting the One Direction star in Argentina but had left back to the US before the fatal incident on October 16.

She shared with Jay Shetty's podcast: “I remember sitting next to him and I kept telling Liam how much I loved him, and he laughed and interrupted me and said, 'Kate, you're late for your flight, your car is waiting in the driveway, you're acting like you're saying goodbye to me forever.'

“I just laughed back and thought, 'I know I'm being stupid, I have to get in the car, I can't miss my flight.'

“Just looking back and realizing that was the last moment I saw him, it's just terrifying.

“But in a way I think our goodbye was a blessing for me, and that’s why I find comfort in it, because it was so sincere.

“Our final farewell. I wouldn't want it to be any other way.”

She added that she was “so glad that we had this last wonderful moment together.”

She also noted that “it was really hard to come to terms with it” because Payne felt like they still had “so much time ahead of them and it was wasted.”

Cassidy added: “I had to try on my wedding dress but I shouldn't have worn a black dress.”

She previously mentioned on Instagram that Payne sent her a note stating his intention to propose to her.

Last year, Cassidy attended the Wolverhampton singer's private funeral along with his family and One Direction bandmates in Buckinghamshire.

In February, a court in Argentina dropped criminal negligence charges against three of the five people charged in connection with his death.

At the Brit Awards in March, Payne was honoured with a video montage of him with his family, as well as footage from his time on The X Factor before his band One Direction won seven awards at the music awards before splitting.
