Gerwyn Price beats Luke Littler again to claim Premier League victory

Luke Littler's curse against Gerwyn Price continues as the Welshman made it six straight wins over the world champion with a Premier League win on matchday six.

Price proved to be Littler's kryptonite, winning 6-3 in the final in Nottingham.

The rest of the darts world will be keen to know the secret to Price's success, as Littler, who has made short work of other opponents, has not beaten him since April 2024, but his flamboyant presence and flamboyance are certainly getting on the youngster's nerves.

The Welshman, who claimed his second Premier League win, is the only player on the tour to beat Littler on the winning side, winning seven of his 11 meetings.

“I was looking to get another win over Luke to stay on his level,” Price said.

“He is the greatest player in the world at the moment and will remain so for many years to come.

“I'm sure he will break Phil Taylor's record of 16 world titles and there is no-one in the PDC who can stop him.

“Maybe someone from the new generation, but we are not able to stop him.

“I'd like to get another win over Luke because I don't think it's going to last long.”

Things might have been different if Littler had done a better job finishing the game, missing 10 shots in a double against Price.

This came after he put in some impressive performances, beating Luke Humphries and Rob Cross.

He scored 110 and 164 in a quarter-final victory over Humphreys – a win that moved him to the top of the Premier League table.

Against Cross it was even more impressive, as he made checkouts of 167, 127 and 164 to secure a 6-3 victory.

Price started with a 6-4 win over Stephen Bunting and then thrashed Michael van Gerwen 6-1 in the semi-finals.
