Semple Stadium to host Munster final between Limerick and Clare

Semple Stadium has been chosen as the venue for the Munster hurling final between Limerick and Clare.

After wins for both counties over the weekend, they will once again meet in the provincial decider, with Limerick defeating Clare in the opening round of the Munster championship.

The final will take place on Sunday June 9th, the third Munster final in a row between the sides. Limerick’s win over Waterford and Clare’s win over Tipperary meant Cork finished third.

The previous night will see Dublin take on Kilkenny in the Leinster hurling final. Dublin’s win over Galway and Kilkenny’s win over Wexford means Wexford will be in the preliminary quarter-final, with Galway’s season over.

The winners of the provincial final will go straight to the All-Ireland semi-finals, with the runners-up to the quarter-finals.

Cork and Wexford progress to the preliminary All-Ireland quarter-finals on the weekend of June 15th and 16th with the Rebels facing the winners of the Joe McDonagh Cup final between Laois and Offaly, which also takes place on June 8th.
