The city is full of unexpected sights, but few are more endearing than a row of wobbly preschoolers, holding onto a rope while they walk with their teachers. For the cover of the March 4, 2024, issue, the artist Victoria Tentler-Krylov depicts children crossing Park Avenue on their way to Central Park. “Because of my architecture training, I pay close attention to the setting of any story, and the emotional context it creates. That’s why the streets of New York are so amazing—there is a new story unfolding wherever I look,” Tentler-Krylov said.
