Despite the war and economic problems, elderly Ukrainians continue to receive benefits. And in September, new opportunities will even open up for some of them.

In particular, some pensioners will have their payments increased, while others will be able to easily go through the identification procedure.
Thus, starting in September, Ukrainians over the age of 70 will receive additional payments if their pension is below the established threshold. Additional payments are provided for those whose pension does not exceed UAH 10,340.35.

The amount of allowances in 2025:
from 70 to 74 years old – 300 UAH per month;
from 75 to 79 years old – 456 UAH;
from 80 years old and older – 570 UAH.
No applications need to be submitted – the accrual is automatic.
Also, single pensioners over the age of 80 who need constant care may receive an additional payment.
To do this, you need:
- provide a medical commission opinion;
- document on family composition;
- confirmation of the absence of able-bodied relatives;
- application to the Pension Fund.
Who needs to pass identification?

The publication also reminds that pensioners temporarily residing abroad or in temporarily occupied territories must confirm their identity by December 31, 2025.
The procedure can be completed:
- through the Pension Fund web portal;
- via video link;
- using Action.Signature.
It is also necessary to confirm that the pension is not paid by the occupying state of Russia, if we are talking about residents of the occupied territories.
In addition, it is important for pensioners to know that the Cabinet of Ministers approved the launch of “Diya.Kartka”, through which Ukrainians will be able to receive:

- pensions;
- payments for IDPs (internally displaced persons);
- assistance from international organizations;
- funds for the programs eBaby and Schoolchild Package.
Using the card will simplify receiving assistance and strengthen control over the transparency of payments.
We also recall that Alena Krasnova, Deputy Director of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, said that for some categories of people on well-deserved rest, payments will increase in October — but not due to indexation, but due to receiving basic social support.
