Search teams have been seen working to drain a well and clear areas of dense vegetation near abandoned buildings as the search for Madeleine McCann continues in Portugal.
German detectives, together with Portuguese police and firefighters, are working in a sparsely populated area a few miles from Praia da Luz, where Madeleine was last seen in 2007.
Aged three, she went missing during a family holiday in the Algarve resort when her parents went out to dinner, leaving her asleep in a room with her young twin siblings.
Journalists were kept away from the search area on Tuesday and a no-fly zone was in place, preventing the use of drones, although some activity could be seen as crews used trimmers, picks, shovels and chainsaws to clear underbrush and debris around the abandoned structure.
While working in the dense undergrowth, workers wore protective gear including gloves and hard hats, and firefighters and police were seen using a yellow hose to drain the well.
The Sun reported that investigators also intend to use radar equipment for underground scanning.
The footage shows two Portuguese police officers guarding the end of a narrow path that leads through an area of fields and bushes that includes several houses and a vineyard.
There have been various reports that investigators are planning to examine sites where trenches were dug near the resort at the time of Madeleine's disappearance, wells, ruins and ponds, and that 21 plots of land are planned to be examined.
