A number of personnel sustained injuries when the forward landing gear of a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, operated by Lufthansa Airlines, buckled while stationary at a gate at Frankfurt Airport on Thursday afternoon, according to the German carrier.
The aircraft was being readied for a journey to Los Angeles when “the plane’s forward undercarriage unexpectedly retracted while it was parked,” the airline communicated in a declaration to ABC News.

“Several individuals suffered minor harm – two Lufthansa flight attendants and other workers from service providers were transported to a medical facility for treatment,” as per the airline. The type of injuries sustained by the employees was not immediately discernible.
The flight was called off, and travelers were rebooked onto alternative flights to their ultimate destinations, the airline informed ABC News.
“We are presently examining the precise sequence of events in conjunction with the appropriate authorities. Technicians and support personnel are present. We shall release additional details once they become accessible,” the airline concluded.
