In addition to money for food from their home country, Ukrainians can also receive more substantial material assistance from international benefactors.
Journalist Iryna Polyakova told about this on the website of the publication “Na pensiyi”.
VIDEO OF THE DAY
According to her, these are pensioners, displaced persons, and families affected by the war.
The journalist also notes that with each month of the war, unfortunately, aid becomes less and less, because even philanthropists are exhausted, trying to support the most vulnerable segments of the population.

In addition, the largest surges in cash assistance usually occur before the heating season begins and at the beginning of the year, when new programs are launched and annual budgets are approved for them.
It is also important to remember that for a certain period (usually three months, six months, a year), you can only receive financial assistance from one international organization.
Therefore, you need to carefully choose the fund to which you apply, because there may be better options.

Typically, to apply, you need to fill out an online form and provide your details:
- last name, first name, patronymic,
- identification code,
- passport data,
- phone number and address where the person actually lives and is registered.
You will also need to provide your IBAN, which is the international bank account number for receiving your payment. It is easy to find out – you can do this in the mobile app or with your bank's support service.
Most often, such assistance is provided by:
- internally displaced persons,
- residents of temporarily occupied or deoccupied territories,
- as well as those who live in frontline areas or places of active hostilities.
The most vulnerable categories can also receive assistance. These may include:

- families with more than three children or a mother who is pregnant or breastfeeding a child under 2 years old,
- and single parents.
Another condition is that they usually help households with an income of no more than UAH 5,400 per person.
Almost all programs are provided specifically to households, which may consist of one or more people living together but not necessarily related.
At the same time, people have:
to live in one place,
share income and expenses, such as rent, food, or utilities, and recognize one person as the head of the household.
That is, a mother raising a child and, for example, her mother-in-law, who lives with them in the same house or apartment, are also a separate household.
When applying for assistance, you should only include those who are actually members of your household, otherwise support may simply be denied.
International Committee of the Red Cross and Ukrainian Red Cross Society
The Red Cross provides financial assistance to low-income families from affected communities. This is an important point – in order to receive a payment, the family must have official low-income status and be registered with the Ministry of Social Policy. But there are winter assistance programs for the heating season. Its size can be from 11.5 to 21 thousand hryvnias.

But here not only the displaced, but also those who have returned to their permanent place of residence, including from abroad. As well as other categories of vulnerability, among them, in particular, are the elderly.
