A 12-year-old girl has been hospitalised after sustaining injuries in an incident at school.
Police were called to Hazlehead Academy in Aberdeen at around 10.30am on Thursday.
Aberdeen City Council said the girl was injured and her parents took her to hospital.
Police described the incident as “low-key” and said there was “no threat to the wider school community.”
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We received reports at 10.30am on Thursday of a 12-year-old girl being injured in the Groats Road area of Aberdeen.
“She was taken to Aberdeen Royal Children's Hospital for medical treatment.
“The investigation is ongoing, but the staff have a positive version of events.
“This was a localised incident and there is no risk to the wider school community.”
An Aberdeen City Council spokesman said: “We can confirm that there has been an incident at Hazelhead Academy this morning.
“As a result, the student was injured.
“The parents took the child and took him for treatment.
“The incident is now closed. The police have been notified and are investigating. We are unable to provide further comment at this stage.”
