Carlos Santana has postponed his second concert in Texas after testing positive for COVID-19.
The guitar virtuoso's official Facebook page announced that he is canceling Thursday night's show on his Oneness Tour at the Smart Financial Centre in Sugar Land, Texas, and will be staying at his hotel to rest.
He previously canceled a concert scheduled for Tuesday night at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio.
Manager Michael Vryonis initially told The Associated Press (AP) in an email that Santana, 77, was suffering from dehydration and later provided an update after his COVID-19 diagnosis was confirmed, saying the second show would be postponed out of an abundance of caution.
The tour, which kicked off April 16 in Highland, California, is expected to resume with a show Friday night in Thackerville, Oklahoma, and a Saturday show in Tulsa.
Cancelled shows in Texas will be rescheduled for later dates as soon as possible.
“We appreciate everyone's well wishes and concerns,” the Facebook post said.
“Carlos looks forward to seeing you all in the near future. Please hold on to your tickets.”
Next week, Santana is scheduled to perform in Nashville and at the New Orleans Jazz Festival, before heading to Las Vegas for her An Intimate Evening with Santana: Greatest Hits Live concert.
Earlier this month, Santana told the Associated Press that fans can expect “a lot of energy, freshness, high awareness, hope and courage” from his Oneness Tour.
