Police say a boy pulled from the River Thames is in a stable condition as the search continues for a missing girl.
A search was launched after two children were found in distress in the water near Royal Terrace Pier in Gravesend on Friday afternoon.
A police spokesman said the Port of London Authority contacted Kent Police at 1.46pm on Friday with “concerns for the safety of two children who had fallen into the river” on Royal Pier Road, Gravesend.
Emergency services were dispatched and a search operation began, during which the boy was pulled from the river.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where his condition was “not described as life-threatening,” police said.
On Saturday, Kent Police's marine unit and coastguard resumed searches in the water and along the riverbank.
