Ukraine needs its own high-speed radio modems with MESH function. Serhiy “Flash” Beskrestnov, advisor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, a specialist in electronic warfare and communication systems, emphasized this in his Telegram channel.

He explained that MESH is not a protocol, a signal, or a type of communication, but a technology that allows radio modems to act as repeaters for each other. This increases the communication range and reliability.
There are many manufacturers of similar solutions in the world, but we cannot rely on China like Russia, and buying modems in Western countries is too expensive for us.

The expert emphasized that radio communication is the basis for controlling all unmanned systems on land, water, and sea.
The overall task: we need to provide a jamming-resistant and encrypted connection for controlling UAVs at a distance of 300-400 kilometers with minimal signal delays and a speed sufficient to transmit a stable video channel in HD format.
Beskrestnov added that he had disassembled and studied MES modems from different manufacturers. According to him, inside there is actually a radio signal power amplifier and one transceiver module. The entire operation of the transceiver is controlled by software.
I believe that we have many talented programmers who can solve this problem. Nothing prevents us from involving Western consultants.
