A new version of the e-Receipts application, which allows consumers to collect electronic proof of purchase, will be released in the coming weeks, Marcin Łoboda, head of the National Revenue Administration, told PAP. He added that the current version of the application has been downloaded by nearly 73,000 users.
In March this year, the Ministry of Finance launched the e-Receipts application, which allows consumers to collect electronic receipts.
“Nearly 73,000 users have downloaded our e-Receipts application. We are developing it to best suit user needs. We will release the next version, containing new useful features, in the coming weeks,” Marcin Łoboda, Deputy Minister of Finance and head of the National Revenue Administration, told the Polish Press Agency (PAP).
He explained that the application is used to link an anonymous customer to an e-receipt using a unique identifier. The system also receives and stores receipts electronically.
“A merchant who wants to issue e-receipts basically has to meet one condition. They simply need to have a cash register with this function. We publish a list of cash register models compatible with the Receipt HUB on our website podatki.gov.pl. Any business with a suitable cash register can issue e-receipts. It doesn't matter whether it's a small local shop or a large retail chain. We don't have detailed information on how many companies already have e-receipt cash registers, but there are a growing number of them on the market. We expect the popularity of e-receipts to grow because customers expect this type of solution,” said Łoboda.
