Nvidia and Perplexity to Support AI from Poland. Bald Eagle Called to the Board by Jensen Huang

Nvidia has announced that it and Perplexity are partnering with AI companies in Europe and the Middle East to improve their language models and make them available to local businesses. The announcement mentioned Poland, and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang pointed to Poland’s Bielik as an example during a conference presentation.

Nvidia announced a series of initiatives to support the development of artificial intelligence at Keynote GTC. The company's blog, where it publishes corporate news, was flooded with entries about new collaborations, solutions and industries where AI can or already finds a solution. Much of the new information concerns Europe, but one also mentions Poland.

The Santa Clara giant said it will work with modelers from France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain and Sweden to help transform their local-language solutions into so-called reasoning models capable of performing more complex tasks.

AI models built in English and Chinese have begun to transition to the technology, but the transition is more difficult for languages with less training data. “To accelerate the region’s AI-driven transformation, NVIDIA partners are delivering their open LLMs with support for 24 official European languages,” NVIDIA said in a statement.

“A few models also specialize in national languages and culture,” the company said, citing examples such as H Company and LightOn in France, Dicta in Israel, Domyn in Italy, and Bielik.AI in Poland. At the presentation in Paris, Nvidia co-founder and CEO Jensen Huang himself mentioned Bielik.

“Nvidia will help modelers generate new data – known as synthetic data – in local languages to help improve their models,” said Kari Briski, vice president of generative AI software at Nvidia.

On portal X, the distinction, as one should call the recognition of the Polish model, was presented by Remigiusz Kinas, an active member of the AI community that co-creates and supports the development of the Polish open language model Bielik as part of the SpeakLeash initiative.

In turn, Perplexity, the company behind the advanced AI-based search engine, after training local models will integrate them with its response engine, which is used by European businesses, publishers and organizations, including telecom and media giants.

Perplexity leverages LLM to improve the accuracy of search queries and AI results. The answering engine draws from authoritative sources in real time to accurately answer questions with in-text citations, perform in-depth research, and perform supporting tasks.

The new information was noticed by, among others, Michał Wyrębkowski, director of European affairs at the Chief Executive Leadership Institute (CELI) at Yale University, who wrote “We are finally on the AI map”.

“Perplexity’s goal is to provide accurate, reliable answers to any question from anyone, anywhere,” said Aravind Srinivas, co-founder and CEO of Perplexity. “Bringing NVIDIA-optimized sovereign AI models to Perplexity empowers innovation in Europe with AI built and powered by the region,” he added.

Bielik is an advanced, open Polish language model of the LLM (Large Language Model) type, developed by the SpeakLeash community and the Academic Computer Center Cyfronet AGH. The model was created to process and generate natural language, specifically for the Polish language, taking into account local nuances, idioms and cultural specificity. The model can be tested and implemented for free, without the need to create an account or log in. It was distinguished as one of the ten most influential open-source AI projects in the world during the Spotlight AI 2025 competition.
