Entrepreneurs and scientists interested in grants will have to respond to research challenges reported by public institutions and develop breakthrough technologies – reports “Puls Biznesu” on Wednesday.
As the newspaper emphasizes, the National Center for Research and Development (NCBR) will finance innovative projects in the formula of innovative public procurement. “For this purpose, the agency obtained PLN 505 million from the European Funds for Modern Economy program. This is a so-called non-competitive project,” explains “PB”.
“We plan to implement 15 research projects in the pre-commercial procurement mode,” announces Agata Rakowska, director of the department of development of innovative program management methods at NCBR.
According to the daily, the aforementioned procedure allows for ordering solutions that are unavailable or not yet widespread on the market. The expert explains in the newspaper that this initiative differs from standard grant competitions. Applicants participating in them specify what technologies or solutions they want to develop. In the case of projects implemented in the pre-commercial procurement procedure, public institutions indicate research challenges for which contractors will create appropriate solutions.
“PB” informs that public institutions will be able to report the aforementioned challenges to NCBR most likely in June. “The monitoring committee will assess them in terms of their usefulness and potential for the public sector, and the contractors will carry out research and development work. They can be entrepreneurs, universities, research institutes and industrial and scientific consortia,” the article indicates. (PAP)
