A change in enemy tactics is being recorded at the front – Russian forces are switching to cheaper strike drones such as the Molniya.
Main theses:
- Russian forces are actively switching to using cheap Molniya attack drones at the front.
- It is noted that the enemy has studied the characteristics of Ukrainian electronic warfare equipment and is using frequency tuning to complicate countermeasures.
Russia is scaling up the use of Molniya drones
This was reported by Advisor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Serhiy “Flash” Beskrestnov.
There has been a decrease in the enemy's use of expensive strike drones on all sections of the front line.
Instead, simpler and cheaper “Lightning” drones are increasingly being used.
It is noted that the video signal transmission range is provided by powerful VTX transmitters at the level of 5-10 W and the use of directional antennas.

In this regard, the need to strengthen electronic warfare means aimed at suppressing video channels is emphasized.
It is also indicated that the existing electronic warfare systems that work against the “Lightning” control channels are sufficient, but the ability to detect control frequencies needs to be expanded.
Attempts at broad-band suppression do not yield stable results due to the large number of frequencies used.
According to experts, the enemy has well studied the characteristics of Ukrainian electronic warfare equipment, which allows it to take into account limitations on the width of signal suppression.
In response, it uses frequency tuning in the range of 300-600 MHz and higher, which reduces the control range but makes countermeasures more difficult.
In addition, the mass use of Molniya is seen as an attempt to overload the work of Ukrainian anti-drone defense calculations.
