The Council of Ministers has sanctioned the introduction of several novel services for vehicle operators within the “Diya” app. Citizens of Ukraine will have the ability to oversee their vehicle identification remotely, thereby negating any requirement for in-person visits to the Ministry of Internal Affairs Service Centers.
Delo.ua conveys this information, citing a statement from the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
Previously, to deposit a license plate for safekeeping following the re-registration of a vehicle or the replacement of its registration certificate, motorists were obligated to attend the Ministry of Internal Affairs Service Center themselves. The updated service will enable the completion of this process completely via “Diya”.
What additional functionalities will be accessible for drivers in “Diya”
- Access stored license plates, adjust their retention approach, and prolong their validity.
- Scheduling appointments and selecting a suitable alphanumeric sequence from one’s “collection” for a new vehicle.
The precise commencement date for these features will be disclosed shortly, according to the department.
It is worth noting that the Ukrainian online marketplace AUTO.RIA pioneered the incorporation of the “Diya” functionality for automotive re-registration within the automotive sector. It is now feasible to re-register a vehicle chosen on the platform with minimal effort.
It should be mentioned that in Ukraine, there is ongoing intensive development in the digitization of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Plans are in place for citizens to undertake virtual theoretical evaluations for driving permits through the “Diya” application.
