It was reported that the investors included the leading fund on the Polish market, Inovo.vc, and experienced business angels, including Charlie Songhurst, Hank Vigil and Marc Jalabert, Suhit Gupta, and Andrew Goodman.

Tracelight integrates artificial intelligence directly into spreadsheets. Instead of replacing Excel, the AI agent supports analysts in writing formulas, detecting errors, analyzing, and formatting financial models—all from a familiar interface. This solution can reduce workload times by up to tenfold.

It was indicated that the solution is already available as an official add-in in the Microsoft Add-In Store.

Tracelight is created by Aleksander Misztal and Jan Zimoch – graduates of the University of Cambridge.

“Analysts around the world still rely on Excel, even though the scale and complexity of the data they work with has increased significantly. The tools supporting financial decision-making have remained largely unchanged for years. Tracelight was designed to enhance existing processes – increasing efficiency and precision – without having to give up the familiar environment,” said Jan Zimoch, co-founder of Tracelight, quoted in the press release.

The seed round was also attended by: Mike Chalfen (Chalfen Ventures) – one of the first investors in King.com, the creator of the game Candy Crush Saga; the success of this investment allowed his fund to return $3 billion to investors, Acecap (founded by former Microsoft executives – Hank Vigil and Marc Jalabert), Charlie Songhurst (former head of Microsoft strategy) and investors Suhit Gupta – former CIO at General Atlantic and Andrew Goodman – Senior Partner at McKinsey.

Tracelight reportedly uses the funds raised to develop solutions for data specialists – financial analysts, consultants, and M&A teams. The tool is already being used by teams from investment banks, Big Four firms, and leading consulting firms. (PAP Biznes)
