Apple is preparing an iPhone with a completely new design
Apple is preparing for a major presentation that is rumored to change the perception of the iPhone. According to insiders, the company is planning for the first time in many years to consistently update the design of its smartphones.
This is reported by Delo.ua with reference to a Bloomberg publication.
The new generation of iPhone: from Air to foldable model
The iPhone Air is expected to be unveiled in September, replacing the Plus model. It will be an ultra-thin and light smartphone that will replicate the success of the MacBook Air line. While it will have some compromises, such as shorter battery life and only a single rear camera, this product should become the basis for future innovations.
Along with it , the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max will be introduced. These models will receive an updated rear design and improved cameras, and the Pro version will be available in a new orange color.
According to Bloomberg, the real revolution is planned for 2026 – it will be the first foldable iPhone . Codenamed V68, it will look like a book that opens into a small tablet. This device will have four cameras and Touch ID, and Apple is already working on minimizing the crease on the screen.
Additionally, in 2027, for the 20th anniversary of the iPhone , Apple is preparing an “iPhone 20” with curved glass edges.
Collaboration with Google and losses in the AI team
Apple is in talks with Google about using Gemini models for Siri, a move that could be an alternative to Apple's own Foundation Models. The talks could also affect a future search engine deal that could bring Apple billions of dollars.
However, Apple's AI team has been experiencing staff losses. Six key employees have left for Meta in the past two months, highlighting the serious challenges Apple faces in competing for AI talent.
Also scheduled for the fall are Apple Watch updates, new iPad Pros with the M5 processor, faster Vision Pro headsets, and new AirPods Pro with heart rate monitoring.
Additionally, the company is expanding its portfolio of services, raising prices for Apple TV+ and launching new paid services like AppleCare One and the upcoming Health+ .
Recall that in April, Apple became the leader in global smartphone sales for the first time with a 19% share thanks to the launch of the iPhone 16e and high demand in countries such as Japan and India.
