Wrexham making ambitious bids, says agent Christian Eriksen

Wrexham have made a bold offer for Christian Eriksen, according to the former Manchester United player's agent.

The 33-year-old Denmark international is without a team after his United contract expires at the end of the 2024-25 season.

Eriksen's agent, Martin Scoots, told the Daily Mail: “Wrexham are really upgrading everything both on and off the pitch and it's a very impressive project, as you can see from the presence of people like (chief executive) Michael Williamson.”

“But Christian still wants to play at the top level and certainly wants to stay in Western Europe.

“There are certain contacts, but it must satisfy both sides.”

The signing of Eriksen, who has 144 caps for Denmark and played for Tottenham and Brentford in the Premier League, would be a significant boost to Wrexham's ambitions to succeed in the Championship.

Eriksen made 35 appearances in all competitions for United, scoring five goals, and also represented Ajax and Inter during his distinguished career.

Wrexham's Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have shown plenty of ambition ahead of the Red Dragons' return to English football's second tier after a 43-year absence.

A third successive promotion saw them sign Wales goalkeeper Danny Ward, left-back Liberato Cacace, midfielders Lewis O'Brien and George Thomason and forwards Josh Windass and Ryan Hardy.

Wrexham, who begin their Championship campaign against Southampton on August 9, are reported to have broken their transfer record twice this summer.

PA news agency has approached Wrexham for comment.
