According to sources, the 38-year-old Ukrainian boxer's contract with Top Rank expired on May 12, and he is now a free agent. At the same time, the future Hall of Famer is only interested in high-profile fights, not warm-up matches, and plans to return to the ring in the fall of 2026.

Recall that the last time Vasyl Lomachenko entered the ring was in May 2024, when he defeated Australian George Kambosos and became the world lightweight champion. In June 2025, the boxer, who returned to Ukraine, announced the end of his career due to back problems.

As you know, during his amateur career (396 wins, 1 loss), Lomachenko won the Olympic gold medal in Beijing 2008 (weight category up to 57 kg), the London 2012 championship title (up to 60 kg) and two world championship titles (in 2009 in Milan and in 2011 in Baku).

In the professional ring, Vasyl held the world featherweight, light featherweight, and lightweight titles, making history as the boxer who won belts in three divisions the fastest (12 fights).

Previously, “FACTS” reported that Lomachenko was being pelted with mud for his “dry” reaction to the rocket attack on his home district.
