“679 Ukrainian girls and boys will never be able to play football — Russia killed them. And continues to kill others, and moral degenerates propose to lift the bans, despite the fact that Russia has not stopped the war. Future generations will consider this a shame, reminiscent of the 1936 Olympic Games,” Andriy Sybiga wrote on the social network X.
Earlier, the boss of world football said that he was ready to consider lifting the ban on Russian teams from participating in international competitions.
“We have to do it. Without a doubt. Because this ban has not achieved anything, it has only created more frustration and hatred,” Gianni Infantino was quoted as saying by Sky News. “The fact that girls and boys from Russia can play football in other parts of Europe would help.”
