Draper and Pegula then defeated Daniil Medvedev and Mirra Andreeva in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals on Wednesday night in New York, where they will face Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud.

Draper and Pegula are the top seeds in the tournament thanks to their ATP and WTA rankings of fifth and fourth, respectively. They put in an impressive performance at Arthur Ashe Stadium, beating former US Open champions Raducanu and Alcaraz 4-2 4-2.

In the first game of the match, the pair immediately made a break on Alcaraz's serve, gaining an early advantage, and the rest of the set was played on serve.
