Unfortunately, in two distances, the “gold” literally slipped out of the hands of our shooting skiers. As a result, Taras Rad , Iryna Bui , Hryhoriy Vovchynskyi and Oleksandr Kazik won the “silver”, and Oleksandra Kononova and Anatoliy Kovalevskyi – the “bronze”.
Following the results of seven days of competition, Ukraine remained in seventh place in the overall team standings of the 2026 Paralympics (in terms of the number of “gold medals”), not taking the chance to overtake Russia.
The top ten medal rankings look like this (Milan 2026 awards have already been won by athletes from 26 countries):
1. China — 33 awards (12 gold, 9 silver, 12 bronze)

As you know, 79 sets of medals will be played in six sports (mountain skiing, cross-country skiing, biathlon, snowboarding, hockey, curling) at the 2026 Paralympics, which will last until March 15. Ukraine, which boycotted the opening ceremony of the competition due to the participation of Russians and Belarusians under its flags, is not represented only in hockey and curling.
Recall that at the 2022 Paralympic Games in Beijing, 29 Ukrainian athletes and guides competed in cross-country skiing and biathlon. With 29 medals (11 gold, 10 silver, 8 bronze), Ukraine took second place in the overall team standings, behind China.
Previously, “FACTS” reported that Ukrainian parabiathletes won six medals at the 2026 Paralympics on the first day of competition, and four on the second.
