Ukraine will compete at the 2026 Paralympic Games with a record-breaking squad 2

The National Paralympic Committee of Ukraine has approved the composition of the national team for the 2026 Winter Paralympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, which will take place after the Olympic Games from March 6 to 15. We would like to remind you that our delegation decided to boycott the opening ceremony in Verona due to the participation of Russians and Belarusians in the Paralympic Games under their flags.

A record number of athletes will compete under the yellow-blue flag in Italy – 35 (25 Paralympic athletes and 10 guide athletes), who will compete for medals in four sports – cross-country skiing, biathlon (athletes with musculoskeletal injuries and visual impairments), alpine skiing, and snowboarding.

In general, the composition of the Ukrainian national team for the 2026 Paralympics is as follows:

We would like to add that 79 sets of medals will be played at the 2026 Paralympic Games in six sports (our paraathletes will not be represented only in wheelchair hockey and curling).

Recall that at the 2022 Paralympic Games, 29 Ukrainian athletes and guides competed in cross-country skiing and biathlon. With 29 medals (11 gold, 10 silver, 8 bronze), Ukraine took second place in the overall team standings, behind China.

Previously, “FACTS” reported that Russia and Belarus were removed from the 2022 Paralympic Games in Beijing.
