Goals : Perveev (26) — Dermendjian (30, 39).
In the first game of the tournament, Oleksandr Kosenko's team had to fight against a team whose players, exactly half of them (7 out of 14) were born and raised in… Russia, and eight players play for clubs in the aggressor country. Therefore, it seemed that our guys would still be in the same mood.
But the opponent turned out to be a tough nut to crack. After the first half, the scoreboard was blank. At the same time, our goalkeeper Savenko had to save the Ukrainian national team from a goal several times.

After the break, the “yellow-blue” played faster, scored through Perveev's efforts, but missed two of the Armenians' attacks. And our more than 50 shots on the opponent's goal were a complete waste of time…
Lithuania and the Czech Republic will play in another match in the quartet on the same day (at 8:00 PM).
In the remaining group matches, Ukraine will face Lithuania (January 25 at 5:00 PM) and the Czech Republic (January 28 at 8:30 PM). The top two teams will advance to the quarterfinals.
In other Euro 2026 matches, the following results were recorded: Group A — France — Croatia — 2:2, Latvia — Georgia — 3:0.
