On Thursday, March 12, on the sixth day of the 2026 Paralympics in Milan, where Ukraine is represented by 25 athletes and 10 guides, our athletes did not go to the start (the awards in alpine skiing were being played, where our only representative Maksym Helyuta will perform on March 13).

As you know, 79 sets of medals will be played in six sports (mountain skiing, cross-country skiing, biathlon, snowboarding, hockey, curling) at the 2026 Paralympics, which will last until March 15. Ukraine, which boycotted the opening ceremony of the competition due to the participation of Russians and Belarusians under its flags, is not represented only in hockey and curling.
Recall that at the 2022 Paralympic Games in Beijing, 29 Ukrainian athletes and guides competed in cross-country skiing and biathlon. With 29 medals (11 gold, 10 silver, 8 bronze), Ukraine took second place in the overall team standings, behind China.
Previously, “FACTS” reported that Ukrainian parabiathletes won six medals at the 2026 Paralympics on the first day of competition, and four on the second.
