Two former Ukrainian national team players banned for life for fraud 2

Former Ukrainian national basketball team players Serhiy Pryimak, 29, and Oleksandr Kolchenko, 37, have been banned for life by FIBA for manipulating match results and betting on basketball competitions, the official website of the Ukrainian Basketball Federation reports.

As a result of the FIBA investigation, it became known that they were involved in match-fixing in matches between Asian clubs Naic Aces (Philippines) and Adroit (Singapore) during the 2024 and 2025 seasons, in particular, in two games in the Champions League East Asia tournament.

As a result, FIBA imposed the following sanctions on both players:

1) a lifetime ban from participating in any or all FIBA and FIBA-related events as a player (including any competitions recognized by FIBA);

2) a lifetime ban from performing any function [other than as a player] in any or all FIBA events and FIBA-related events (including any competitions recognized by FIBA).

By the way, these sanctions apply to competitions in Ukraine, in particular, amateur ones.

We should add that Oleksandr Kolchenko played in Ukraine for Khimik, Azovmash, Polytechnica-Halychyna, Budivelnyk, Cherkassky Mavpy, Ternopil and Stary Lutsk, becoming the national champion and MVP of the season in 2018 as part of the Cherkassy team. In turn, Serhiy Pryimak played in his homeland for Prometey, Mykolaiv, Budivelnyk and Cherkassky Mavpy.
