Positive news from Antonio
Michael Antonio feels he has been given a “new chance” at life and has revealed his comeback from a horrific car crash will come three months earlier than expected.
The West Ham striker suffered a four-fold fracture of his thigh when his Ferrari crashed into a tree in Epping Forest on December 7.
Antonio, 34, told BBC One's Morning Live: “I've become a more sensitive person since the accident. I was on the verge of death.
“Physically I feel better, but the psychological trauma takes time to heal. Now it's just made me a happier, more optimistic person because obviously I have a new chance at life.”
Rousseau strives for European glory
Arsenal striker Alessia Russo is aiming for a trophy as she prepares for her first Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.
The in-form England international is the second-highest goalscorer in the Women's Super League this season with 10 goals and has also netted five in Europe.
Arsenal are the only English club to have won the Champions League, lifting the trophy in 2007, and head into the first leg in the Spanish capital on Tuesday, with the return leg next Wednesday.
“When you come and sign for Arsenal you realise the heritage of the club and its history of winning trophies and I want to be a part of that with this club,” said former Manchester United player Russo.
