Tottenham have renewed their interest in Eberechi Eze and have opened discussions with Crystal Palace over a potential move for the England international, according to the PA news agency.
Spurs have long been interested in Eze, dating back to his spells at QPR, but he signed for Palace in 2020.
Eze has since become one of the Premier League's leading attacking midfielders and new Tottenham manager Thomas Frank is targeting the 27-year-old before the summer transfer window closes.
Frank needs more creativity after key playmaker James Maddison recently damaged the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and his midfield partner Dejan Kulusevski faces some time on the sidelines after knee surgery.
After failing to land Nottingham Forest captain Morgan Gibbs-White last month, Spurs have stepped up their transfer activity this week, opening talks with Manchester City on Monday over the signing of versatile striker Savinho and are now in discussions with Palace over Eze.
England midfielder Eze has a two-year contract at Selhurst Park and has helped the club to FA Cup and Community Shield victories in recent months, the latest triumph coming on Sunday when he beat Liverpool on penalties at Wembley Stadium.
