Ahead of the action at Augusta National this week, some of Sky Sports’ top pundits pick their 2024 Masters champion

Rory McIlroy has been grouped with world No 1 Scottie Scheffler and reigning Olympic gold medallist Xander Schauffele for the first two rounds of the 88th Masters at Augusta National.

McIlroy arrives at the opening major of the year off the back of a third-place finish at the Valero Texas Open and aiming to win the only major required to complete the career Grand Slam, having posted six top-10 finishes at Augusta National since his 2014 PGA Championship victory.

The Northern Irishman will go out at 10.42am (3.42pm BST) on Thursday alongside Schauffele and pre-tournament favourite Scheffler, who has already won the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players this year and is now looking to secure the Green Jacket for a second time in three years.

Woods returns to action for the first time since his mid-round withdrawal from February’s Genesis Invitational, with the 15-time major champion facing an late-early draw as he chases a record-equalling sixth Masters victory.

The former world No 1 is in the afternoon wave with Max Homa and Australian Jason Day, going out at 1.24pm (6.24pm BST), while reigning major champions Brooks Koepka and Brian Harman are in the following group alongside Korea’s Tom Kim.
