Sunday sport: Bicycle-kick goal from Garnacho helps Man United to away win


Premier League

A stunning bicycle kick from Alejandro Garnacho helped Manchester United beat Everton in the Premier League at Goodison Park.

It finished 3-0 in favour of the visitors, with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial also on the scoresheet.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa came from behind to overcome the challenge of Tottenham 2-1 in north London.

That result lifts Unai Emery’s team above Spurs and into fourth.

Women’s Super League

Niamh Fahey and Leanne Kiernan both featured for Liverpool in their 4-nil win over Brighton in the Women’s Super League today.

Leaders Chelsea were 5-2 winners over Leicester, while Arsenal beat West Ham 3-nil.

Everton were 2-1 winners at Aston Villa, while Manchester City’s meeting with Tottenham is goalless after the opening 15 minutes.

Gaelic games

Scotstown will play Glen of Derry in the Ulster club football final.

The Monaghan side needed extra-time to beat Trillick by 0-17 to 1-13.

In Munster, Dingle got past Clonmel Commercials by 0-13 to 0-10 to book their place in the decider.

Castlehaven await the Kerry club, after the Cork men saw of Rathgormack by 1-16 to 1-7.


Reigning World Champion Luca Brecel is into the second round at the UK Championship.

He beat Yuan Sijun by six frames to four to progress.

In the other game this afternoon, Zhang Anda edged by Elliott Slessor by six frames to five.

Fastorslow got the better of Galopin Des Champs to win the Grade One John Durkan Memorial Steeplechase at Punchestown.

JJ Slevin was on board to guide the Martin Brassil seven-year-old to victory, with Appreciate It in second.

Galopin Des Champs was third.
