On Sunday night, February 1, at the famous Madison Square Garden arena in New York (USA), a fight for the WBO world champion title in super lightweight (up to 63.5 kg) took place between the holder of the belt Teofimo Lopez (22 wins, 13 of them by knockout, 2 losses), who once defeated Vasyl Lomachenko, and his compatriot Shakur Stevenson (25 wins, 11 of them by knockout), who decided to conquer the fourth division.

In a fight between peers (both boxers are 28 years old), Stevenson simply taught his opponent a lesson, who received a dissection in the 6th round. And it is not surprising that in the end all three judges gave the victory to Shakur (by the way, the vice-champion of the 2016 Olympic Games) with an indecent score of 119:109.
The undeniable advantage of the contender is also demonstrated by the statistics of the fight from the computerized Compubox system. Shakur more than doubled the number of successful punches landed by Teofimo (165 against 72). He has a slight advantage in power punches (60 against 56) and a crushing advantage in jabs (105:16).
“I felt good and I beat him. I did what I had to do,” said Shakur Stevenson , who previously won the featherweight and light lightweight world titles and still holds the WBC lightweight title. “That's the art of boxing: hitting and not missing, taking your opponent apart. I can beat any of these guys; all I have to do is focus. I told you I'm the best fighter in the world, and I stand by that.”
