The Shergar Cup returns to Ascot this Saturday and the Weekend Winners team will be back in action to pick out the best betting options for this unique event.

There have been some small changes to the team competition this year, with the women's team being replaced by an Asian team that will compete against Great Britain and Ireland, Europe and the Rest of the World.

It is a typically competitive program, featuring a host of stars including Holly Doyle, Ryusei Sakai, Hugh Bowman and Robbie Dolan.

“He is a winner over this distance and at the start and I believe this race is going very well for him as he gets closer to the right speed.

Jason Weaver met with Melbourne Cup-winning jockey Robbie Dolan ahead of his ride in the Shergar Cup at Ascot on Saturday.

Sam Boswell of BetVictor…

“I'm heading to Mile (4.30) to finish the trip. I think URBAN LION can handle it.

“It's a competitive race but his form at Royal Ascot is impressive and the fact we haven't seen this horse for a while is intriguing.”

Hosted by Kate Tracy…

“My NAP will be MDAWI in the Shergar Cup Classic (3.55).

“What we know about Johnston's horses is that they can be given the opportunity to recover from a bad start.

He won three starts ago and showed incredible resilience then. He did even better, finishing second at Goodwood. Things didn't go so well at Goodwood last time, but that was after a two-day turnaround.

“At 9/2 odds, I'm willing to take the risk again.”
