It’s already been a busy day for Team Ireland on Day 3 of the Paralympic Games.
At the velodrome in Paris this morning, Richael Timothy set a new national record in the Women’s C1-3 500-metre Time Trial Qualifying.
She missed out on a place in this afternoon’s final.
Elsewhere, Ronan Grimes picked his own national record but missed out on qualifying for the Men’s C4 4000-metre Individual Pursuit medal races.
Shauna Brocquet was the first Irish Para-Athlete in a final today – she finished eighth in the Women’s 5000-metre T54 final.
In the rowing, Tiarnán O’Donnell and Katie O’Brien took fourth in their PR2 Mixed Double Sculls repechage and will compete in the B Final.
Greta Streimikyte goes in the Women’s 15-hundred metre T-13 final at the Stade de France from 10 past 6 this evening.
Soccer
In the Premier League, Arsenal dropped points for the first time this season.
The Gunners shared the spoils with Brighton after a 1-1 draw in the lunchtime game at the Emirates.
The hosts were also reduced to 10 early in the second half after a second yellow for Declan Rice.

She heads the field on 13-under-par at Carton House, Leona Maguire is best of the Irish – she’s 1-under for the day, sitting on 4-under overall.
18-year-old Dubliner Anna Abom finished the day on 2-over.
Rugby
There is silverware up for grabs as the Women’s Interprovincial Series comes to a close today.
Rivals Leinster and Munster will battle it out for the title with a 4.15pm kick off at Kingspan Stadium.
Before that, Ulster and Connacht are meeting in the third placed playoff – the Westerners are 14-7-up at half-time in Belfast.

There was another huge shock in the men’s draw of the US Open – with defending champion Novak Djokovic knocked out in the third round.
The Serb lost 3-1 to Australia’s Alexei Popyrin – serving a career-high 14 double faults.
It means Djokovic’s wait for a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam singles title goes on.
On the court today, top seed Jannick Sinner comes up against Christopher O’Connell.
In the women’s draw, Wimbledon finalist Jasmine Paolini takes on Yulia Putintseva.
