On Wednesday, February 25, in the Champions League, where the day before, modest Bude-Glimt sensationally knocked out Inter, four more participants in the round of 16 of the tournament were determined based on the results of the second leg play-offs.
VIDEO OF THE DAY
Newcastle, Atletico, Bayer Leverkusen and Bude Glimt will be joined by PSG, Real Madrid, Atalanta and Galatasaray, who were eliminated by a strong Juventus in overtime.
Let us remind you that according to the results of the overall tournament with the participation of 36 teams, the top eight clubs — Arsenal (England), Bayern (Germany), Liverpool (England), Tottenham (England), Barcelona (Spain), Chelsea (England), Sporting (Portugal) and Manchester City (England) — made it to the round of 16 immediately.

February 25 (Wednesday)
Real Madrid (Spain) – Benfica (Portugal) – 2:1 (Chuameni, 16, Vinicius, 80 – Rafa Silva, 14). First match – 1:0.
Jose Mourinho's team, with Trubin in the starting lineup and Sudakov in the reserves, tried to rectify the situation after the first scandalous match and even took the lead at the Santiago Bernabeu. But Real Madrid, even without the injured Mbappe (and with Lunin on the bench), managed to put pressure on the guests from Lisbon.

PSG (France) – Monaco (France) – 2:2 (Marquinhos, 60, Quaratskhelia, 66 – Aclius, 45, Taize, 90+1). In the 59th minute, Coulibaly (Monaco) was sent off. First match – 3:2.
The current trophy holder, PSG, with Ilya Zabarny in reserve, was inferior to the Monegasques, as in the first meeting, but managed to correct the situation when Monaco was again left in the minority (the 9th time in the current Champions League!). The Parisians narrowly missed out on their compatriots.
Atalanta (Italy) – Borussia (Dortmund, Germany) – 4:1 (Scamacca, 5, Zappacosta, 45, Pasalic, 57, Samardzic, 90+8, from the penalty spot – Adeyemi, 75). In the 90+7th minute, Schlotterbeck (off the field) and Bensabaini (both – Borussia) were sent off. First match – 0:2.
The climax of the duel between the former teams of Ruslan Malinovsky and Andriy Yarmolenko came in the minutes awarded by the referee, when first Bansabaini left Borussia in the minority, and then Samardzic from the penalty spot brought Atalanta a hard-earned victory on aggregate – 4:3.

Juventus (Italy) – Galatasaray (Turkey) – 3:2 in extra time (Locatelli, 37, from penalty, Gatti, 70, McKennie, 82 – Osimhen, 105+1, Yilmaz, 119).
The Turin team, following Inter, ended their campaign in the tournament, conceding three (!) goals to the Turks, fighting with ten men from the 48th minute. In overtime, Galatasaray's attack leaders Osimhen and Yilmaz still “buried” Spalletti's team.
We would like to add that the draw for the round of 16 will take place on February 27, and the matches themselves will be held on March 10/11 and 17/18.
Previously, “FACTS” reported that Ukrainian goalkeeper Anatoly Trubin's goal against Real Madrid in the 90+8th minute brought Benfica into the Champions League playoffs.
