The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), which has banned Russia from major international competitions for four years, promises to investigate the scandal in ski jumping.
VIDEO OF THE DAY
The case concerns the situation with penile injections allegedly given to ski jumpers. There is a suspicion that this may indeed be doping, writes the Guardian.
The scandal, dubbed “penisgate,” was first reported by the German tabloid Bild.
Norwegian Olympic medalists Marius Lindvik and Johann Andre Forfang have been suspended for three months after it was discovered that the team secretly adjusted the seams of their suits in the groin area during the 2025 World Ski Jumping Championships.

The scientific journal Frontiers found that every 2 centimeters of suit girth reduced aerodynamic drag by 4% and increased lift by 5%. The authors believe that a 2-centimeter change in suit size is equivalent to an additional 5.8 meters of jump length.
To temporarily increase the size and, accordingly, get looser suits during competitions, injections of hyaluronic acid into the penis or the use of clay on underwear are called.
This information is still unproven. WADA Director General Olivier Niggle said he did not know the details of the scandal, but promised that the agency's experts could check whether the methods mentioned in the media fall under banned substances.
