2026 Winter Olympic champion, American alpine skier Breeze Johnson, faced an unexpected problem while celebrating her triumph in downhill.

During an interview with TNT, the 30-year-old athlete showed off her award, admitting with a smile that the medal's fastening had broken – the “gold” was in her pocket, the ribbon around her neck.
“She's heavy and she broke. That's the style. I was just jumping for joy and then she fell off,” Breezy Johnson admitted live on air.

What else! The 2026 Olympic vice-champion in skiathlon, Swedish skier Ebba Andersson, has lost part of her medal. According to SVT, the incident occurred right at the Lago di Tesero ski stadium, shortly after the awards ceremony.
“Frida (Karlsson, Swedish Olympic champion in skiathlon. — Author ) and I decided to go to our fan club. I was running after her, and my medal fell into the snow. It broke into three pieces, one of which — a small fastener — I couldn't find. I hope the organizers have some kind of plan “B” for this case,” said Ebba Andersson , who won the first Olympic medal in her career.
