Luke Littler beats Luke Humphries to make it two Premier League wins in a row

Luke Littler made it back-to-back Premier League wins with a 6-1 win over Luke Humphries in the final in Newcastle.

League Cup final scorer Dan Byrne was among several Newcastle players who watched as Littler beat Stephen Bunting and Rob Cross to secure a fourth win of the competition and extend his lead at the top of the standings after matchday eight.

Littler and Humphreys have previously met in two Premier League finals this season, winning each.

Humphries looked frustrated when Littler took a 4-0 lead with three straight double-20 strikeouts.

Missed doubles had cost the world number one dearly throughout the tournament and Littler was well on his way to victory, later admitting he felt some fatigue during his performance on Thursday.

Littler commented: “I'm really pleased with my performance today, obviously I was a bit tired towards the end, I felt a bit drained. It's just nice to get over that line in the final.

“My normal shot, or what I showed today, felt like fatigue, so I changed it up a little bit. After the game, Luke said he felt fatigued, but I just had to stay afloat.

“I feel good. I felt tired tonight, like I did last week in the final. The main thing is to have confidence and go out there and play these games.”

Littler's impressive evening began with a convincing win over Bunting in the quarter-finals, where he won 6-0 in 10 minutes, averaging just under 110.

Bunting remains at the bottom of the table without a win, but Littler is hoping he can secure a much-needed victory.

“I think he said last week that he was putting too much pressure on himself not having won in eight weeks,” Littler said.

“If I was in Stephen's shoes, you just have to relax. Say 'come on, win this first game'. I'm sure once he gets that first win and feels that feeling, he can go on, I think he could win
