Wladimir Klitschko's ex-fiancée, 36-year-old American actress Hayden Panettiere, who had serious problems with alcohol, gave a candid interview ahead of the release of her memoir “This Is Me, Retribution” on May 19. During a conversation with a correspondent for US Weekly, the mother of the legendary boxer's 11-year-old daughter, in particular, admitted that she is bisexual.

“It’s something I’ve never been able to share with the world because I just didn’t have the time,” Hayden Panettiere said. “Either I was too young or I was always forced to be perfect. I wasn’t encouraged to just be myself. Then there was a period where it seemed like coming out as bisexual or liking girls, especially women, was trendy. I was afraid that if I was honest, it would look like I was just giving in to the hype. It was a very difficult topic to express properly. It’s sad that I had to wait until I was 36 to share that part of myself, but better late than never, right?
Yes, I dated women. But it was scary because the paparazzi were always waiting for me outside, following me everywhere. I had very little personal space. I dated women. Even as a child, I was much more attracted to women than men. I tried different relationships, but because I didn't tell anyone about it, I didn't have the courage to fully immerse myself in them emotionally. Because if I fell in love, I wouldn't want to hide it.
“Now that I know this book is coming out and that I've decided to share it with the world, I can confidently say: yes, I'm bisexual. I said it! This is the first time I've been able to say it out loud.”

Klitschko's former lover also spoke about her current relationship with Wladimir and their daughter Kaya Evdokia.
“I have an incredible relationship with both of them,” the actress says. “I'm so grateful to Vladimir. We're very close, we have a deep friendship, and with it, a relationship since I met him at 19. So to see that we still have that connection, and the opportunity to raise a child together, and show our daughter that even if we're not together, it doesn't mean we don't have love, and it doesn't mean we're in danger. And my daughter is just an incredible gift. She's ethereal, so kind, so strong, and surrounded by good people, and it's incredibly important for me to watch her flourish in the areas that I had problems with as a child. She's just the best thing in me, all the best qualities of Vladimir.

“As soon as this war in Ukraine started, I made sure to be there for my daughter as we watched her father and uncle fight on the front lines. She was so brave, so thoughtful and rational. You're afraid that if they can't fully experience their emotions, they'll ignore them, and it'll affect them later in life. But I remember sitting her down and talking to her about the war, and asking, 'Do you have any questions?' And her only question was, 'Why is Putin doing this?' The only question I really couldn't answer.”
Recall, Panettiere and Klitschko began dating in 2009. Their romance lasted two years, after which they broke up. However, in 2013, Hayden and Wladimir got back together and by the end of the year announced their engagement. In December 2014, Panettiere gave birth to a daughter, Kaya Evdokia. However, the actress and the Ukrainian boxer never got married – in 2018 they finally broke up.
