Legendary Ukrainian high jumper, Olympic champion Yaroslava Maguchykh, who won the bronze medal of the “open” world championship in Tokyo in September 2025, performed brilliantly at the world indoor championship in Torun, Poland.

VIDEO OF THE DAY

The 24-year-old athlete from Dnipro, among the 11 strongest jumpers on the planet, entered the sector later than everyone else, starting the fight at a height of 193 cm. And up to 199 cm inclusive, four athletes at once — Maguchykh, another Ukrainian Yulia Levchenko, Australian Nikola Olislagers, and Serbian Angelina Topic — took all heights on the first attempt.

But the bar at a height of 201 cm was conquered only by Maguchykh (again from the first jump!), who became a two-time world indoor champion. Unfortunately, the “closed” world record (206 cm) did not submit to Yaroslav this time. Sensational Levchenko, winner of the last two “closed” world championships, Olislagers and Topich shared the “silver” of the 2026 World Championships. Bravo, girls!

Recall that in 2022, Yaroslava Maguchykh won gold at the World Indoor Championships in the capital of Serbia, Belgrade, in 2024 in Glasgow, Scotland, she won silver, and in 2025 in Nanjing, China, she won bronze.
