Limerick goalkeeper Nicky Quaid has been named in the starting line-up for Munster's opening league match against Tipperary on Sunday.
Quaid has made an impressive comeback from an ACL injury he suffered in November and will be back in action this weekend.
Quaid was replaced in the league by Jason Gillane and former striker Shane Dowling, with Dowling left on the bench on Sunday.
There had been hope that Quaid could play some part in the championship but his quick return has come as a surprise as he is playing his first game for Limerick since the League of Ireland semi-final defeat to Cork.
Tipperary made changes to the side that lost the league final to Cork, with John McGrath replacing Gearoid O'Connor and Darragh Stakelum replacing Willie Connors.
In Leinster, TJ Reid will miss Kilkenny's opening match against Galway with a calf injury that could keep him out for six weeks.
Adrian Mullen, Eoin Cody and Mikey Carey are in the Kilkenny starting line-up.
In football, Shane Walsh is yet to feature for Galway in their Connacht semi-final against Roscommon.
Walsh is out with an injury sustained in the National League defeat to Dublin, with Damien Comer named as a substitute.
Kerry will welcome back Sean O'Shea, who has been out with injury since February.
