GAA: Kerry beat Cork to reach quarter-finals

Kerry have made it two wins out of two in the Irish Senior Football Championship.

A confident performance from Jack O'Connor's side in the final half saw them beat Cork 1-28 to 0-20 in Pairc Ui Chaomha.

Cork came into their own in the first half, taking a 0-13 to 0-7 lead at the break.

Kerry improved their performance in the second half and Sean O'Shea's nine points helped the Kingdom to victory.

David Clifford scored the only goal of the game in the 13th minute to level the scores at 8-1 and Kerry faced Meath in their final group match.

Cork remain winless after two games.

Mayo got back on track with a 2-17 to 1-13 win over Tyrone in Omagh.

Darren McHale scored in the first half to give Mayo a 1-9 to 0-4 lead at the break.

Mayo held on to their lead in the second half, with Ryan O'Donoghue converting a second-half penalty to secure a vital win.

Down held off Louth in the second half to win 0-25 to 0-24, while Roscommon and Meath were tied 2-15 to 0-21 at Hyde Stadium.
