The M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool hosted a fight for the WBA featherweight world title between the holder of the belt, the still undefeated Briton Nick Ball (23 wins, 13 of them by knockout, 1 draw, 1 loss) and the former two-division champion, American Brandon Figueroa (26 wins, 20 of them by knockout, 2 losses, 1 draw), who at one time was among the top six knockout fighters of the year.

The 12-round fight in Ball's hometown, where he was making his fourth title defense, ended in a sensational defeat. In the final three minutes, the 29-year-old Figueroa knocked down his opponent, and when Ball got up, he effectively knocked out the champion (over the ropes!), becoming the holder of belts in three weight categories.

By the way, at the time the fight was stopped, it was Figueroa who was leading the score in the notes of two of the three judges.

Let's add that Nick Ball is friends with Oleksandr Usyk's “victim” Tyson Fury. The Gypsy King once said that heavyweights are lucky that Ball is only 157 cm tall, otherwise he could be a serious problem for the heavyweight.
Previously, “FACTS” reported that famous boxer Anthony Joshua was involved in a fatal car accident in Nigeria.
