Former Italian club player Christian Gidai, 38, has been found dead under mysterious circumstances after suddenly disappearing, The Sun reports. Earlier, the European national team player was found dead in a swimming pool.

Last July, an Italian of Nigerian descent, Jidai, passed the exam that allowed him to officially join the Ravenna provincial police. On Tuesday, he did not show up for work. His worried colleagues called Christian's family, who filed a missing person report. Around midnight that same day, police tracked the location of his mobile phone and found the body of the former footballer in a pine forest in Lido Adriano, near Ravenna. The cause of death has not yet been released.
We should add that Christian Gidai, who would have turned 39 on March 3, played 11 years as a right-back for Italian Serie B and C clubs Cesena, Novara, Pro Patria and Forli. In the 2011/2012 season, he was part of Novara in Serie A, but never made his debut in the elite Italian division.

After completing his football career, Jidai took up coaching and from 2017 to 2019 worked as an assistant coach for the San Marino national team.
Previously, “FACTS” reported that the former Dnipro and Kryvbas football player was found dead at the age of 37.
